Towards the
end of my degree, many short projects were set to train the mind to produce
valuable designs and concepts in a short amount of time. This was one of
those projects. It lasted two days, and the brief was to choose a famous
quote and design an A2 poster to represent it's meaning.
I chose one of Nelson Mandelas very famous quotes: "I greet you all
in the name of peace, democracy and freedom for all. I stand here before
you, not as a prophet, but as a humble servant of you the people. Your
tireless and heroic sacrifices have made it possible for me to be here
today. I therefore place the remaining years of my life in your hands.
The striking contrast of black, white and grey symbolises the way in which
Nelson Mandella wanted all races to be as one. The positioning of Mandelas
head represents how he is a very important and well respected leader.
